Awakening Records artists Nazeel Azami and Mesut Kurtis participate in the world's first Islamic operetta on the life of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Filmed in Cairo in November 2009, the operetta brought together some of the leading artists in the Islamic music industry and is set to be an instant hit across the Arab world.

The idea was conceived by Buthinah Ibraheem (wife of Dr. Tariq Swaidan) and involved tremendous planning and effort. The final version is scheduled to be aired across satellite from January 2010.

One of Britain's leading music directors is set direct a music video for Awakening's latest music sensation - Maher Zain - for one of the songs from his debut album 'Thank You Allah'. Mike Harris is an accomplished director with an impressive track record.

He has done work for Nike, Sony and Ford producing commercials and has also worked with music icons across the globe including the likes of Madonna, Coldplay, and Pink Floyd.

"Maher is an exceptional talent and I look forward to working with him and Awakening on this exciting venture" said Mike Harris.

Awakening Records artist Hamza Namira performed at a sell-out concert organised by Awakening artist & event management division AE2 at the historic Alexandria library in Egypt.

"This is only the fifth time that this library has witnessed a sold-out concert" said the director of the historic Alexandria Library in Egypt. "I am thrilled" commented Wassim Malak, director of AE2 - "Hamza is a great artist, and the sold-out concert, only the fifth in the history of the Library, shows that his fan base is growing daily. A lot of work went on behind the scenes months before the concert to plan all the logistics etc and we are very glad that it was a great success."

Awakening Records is set to release the debut album of Saudi artist Mohammed Alhaddad in January. The album will feature 12 stunning tracks in Arabic and is available for purchase from Virgin and other music stores across the Gulf.

AE2 artists Maher Zain and Hussein Zahawy performed at the Islamic Relief 25th Anniversary Gala Dinner in the presence of HRH Prince Charles. Both artists captivated the audience with their stunning performances.
